WHAT I AM ALL ABOUT
Nice to meet you! I'm Alyssa - just a girl who accidentally made a whole business out of the "fun" hobby she used to procrastinate her history homework in high school! How lucky am I?!
To get serious for a second though... I firmly believe that the biggest way I can make a difference in this world is to show younger people (especially women) that they are strong, valued, unique, and capable. I feel this so thoroughly every single day. Photography isn't just a job for me - it is activism. Working together with amazing women like studio owners, coaches, and moms to empower the generation of girls that are coming up after us - wow, I tear up when I talk about it!
There are many, many people along the past decade to thank, for all the little and big ways they've helped me grow and find a true place - a cozy, inspiring home that just happens to be nested within a business. I love - love - what I do and the amazing people I get to do it with. I am so excited to meet more of you!

2006
Steve Selinger captured a priceless photo of the best moment - winning a State championship. Being able to hold a tangible photo of an irreplaceable moment changed me.

2007
After years of holding a pocket digital camera, a wonderful dance mom entrusted me to capture her daughter (& teammate I left behind when I graduated the previous year). The photos were blurry - but they lit me up.
I held my first dslr & began the process of self-teaching
2010
A Nikon D90 and 24-70mm lens were put on my credit card and I began shooting BTS on a movie set. This is also where I met Mr. Alyssa! We were both working on a local war film called "Memorial Day". A young actor named Jasper was the first person to pay me for photo work - his headshots.

2011
What an exciting time - I joined a local luxury wedding photographer as a second shooter and colorist. I worked about 20 weddings a year and just learned a TON about photography and how to run a business. She also forced me to start using Lightroom - it was a game-changer!
I became a wedding photographer!
2012
My old coach asked if she could hire me to create a video for her new team. It was a totally new skill set for me to shoot video but I loved the challenge! More importantly, I just loved being surrounded by dancers again. It felt like home! P.S. - Here's my first ever video, if you'd like to see where I started!

How I got here
UNFORGETTABLE MOMENTS
2018
I started getting more and more dance work through word of mouth and finally felt confident enough to start saying no to other projects that didn't feel inspiring to me. It was so scary at first to "lose" income in that way but it only opened the door for more relevant work and made room for more dream dance clients. I was amazed!
I got the courage to niche down to dance
And the rest is history!
Your energy is everything and you deliver something no one else can. You are a piece of our puzzle and help build confidence in a way I can't explain! There's no amount of money in the world to show the importance of what you capture.
